The Wall Street Journal reports that a recent convention of financial engineers was held at the National Harbor. Ramesh and Aastha analyze why this convention was NOT held in the Washington, DC Convention Center but rather in a suburb of DC... Is it because there is no large hotel in the DC Convention Center? And while on the subject of DC, they also debate the recent drop in ratings of Mayor Fenty. Even though Mayor Fenty seems to be doing everything right, a lot of DC residents seem unhappy with him. Could it be because of his personal style? Or because of some decisions that he has made in awarding city contracts to controversial vendors? Or because of his support of Chancellor Rhee (whose ratings are also down)?

In economics of marriage, men hit the jackpot, according to a new article in USA Today. Now, men are better off economically because their wives are, too, suggests a new study on the economics of marriage by the Pew Research Center.

In TV news, India-themed comedies have emerged as a new trend. "Nirvana," an ensemble comedy about grown-up Indian-American brothers and their Indian immigrant parents, and "Outsourced," an office comedy about an American shipped off to India to manage a ragtag group of customer service reps, are coming soon to primetime.

Meanwhile on the big screen, The Reliance-Anil Ambani Group is all set to get into Hollywood's big bucks league, backing Steven Spielberg's planned biopic of Martin Luther King. The Ambani Group has purchased a number of movie theatres (under the banner, "Big Cinema") showing Bollywood movies in the US.
